Have you ever been a in situation where you just want to be done? But its the golden handcuff with seemingly NO way out. I’m there and yet then again I am not. In Christ, there is freedom. I absolutely believe that and I also know the power of speaking life over my circumstances. I also know that circumstances can be hard to figure the way out. There’s a situation that has been going on for five years. I just want out. Yet- I do not want to miss what the Lord is doing.
It is the situation where all, every single bit of my work (along with my mom and sister’s) is ripped up. No one will see. Instead they will see someone else work. For the first time in my life there is an appearance of no hope left and I simply can’t seem to go on. Burnout has come and I no longer have the time nor heart to see my work continuously destroyed all the while other’s telling me to do the very work that nearly destroyed my family.
Boy • the guilt, shame and obligation has risen up. It also doesn’t help that I am expect by one parent to continue to help on top of many things I’ve got to do. It has been incredibly hard not to carry offense, to control my tongue, and not give up, to not quit I have done work to make sure that my anger doesn’t turn to seething. Heart work that has been worth every prayer and every submission.
Before you think this is complaining session, I assure it is not. The stage has now been set. I can now move on.
When you are trapped. Meaning: if you go one way, doom seems to follow. You go the other way finances dry up. Still another it seems to be a cliff. No matter where you go the sound of rattling chains follow and freedom no where it seems to be found. I am NOT saying figuratively, it is very real life situation. What do you do?
Every situation is different, but the solution is always the same. Jesus.
Remind yourself who you are in Christ. Tell your mountain how big your God is. Give yourself many grace…and be okay with falling- but don’t be okay staying down. I am a big believer in acknowledging the severity of the situation, but know this fact do not ever trump truth. Ever.
In every situation from the tiniest annoyance to the biggest heartache there are three things you can always do. One choose to speak life (the gospel over your life), pray in tongues when you don’t know what to pray (I know many are cautious about praying in tongues, but I have found my relationship to be all the more sweeter and closer to Father which is the entirety of the point), and as you walk it out with the Holy Spirit apply what HE says…not you, not anyone else…what He says.
While there is weighty situations, you nor I have to carry that weight alone. In fact, we shouldn’t even carry it. A concept that boggles my mind. When we walk step in step with where the Holy Spirit says we find our heart healing, our steps lighter, and the crown that was place on our head remains straightened.
Don’t change your royalties for rags.
Feel the emotions, the Lord gave them to us. But do not allow them to have control of you or your life. Recognize them for what they are while speaking life to your circumstances. It’s call taking authority that has been handing down to you to use and that authority is expected to be used it was given to you for a reason.
I recently read something from a friend who had no clue that I was writing on this, but I loved how she said it.
Psalms 10:3-5 ” Who (God) satisfieth my mouth with good things, so that my youth is restored as an eagle’s” The literal translation of the word “Mouth” for this verse is not so different versions will use “days”, “life”, and in the case “mouth” – which was what struck me as so imporant” Another definition for this word is “ornament.” I hadn’t considered before that our mouths (what we speak) is an ornament for our lives, whether for good or for bad. Can I share with you Sarah version of Psalm 103:5? Lol “He fills my mouth with words of prophecy and truth and life and ornaments my life SO THAT I a renewed and stored and energized.” In a nutshell- speaking HIS truth and His word us is that important. We are ornamenting our lives either for good or bad! I had the opportunity to “ornament” today- I wanted to complain about situation that seemed to legitimately merit complaint. LOL. It was PAINFUL to shut up and then choose to speak life and truth at first. BUT THE LIFE THAT FLOWED AFTER! The fruit was almost instant.
The words we speak are power. The thoughts we have its crucial to take ALL captivate. And we’re able to do that by seeing ourselves as Christ sees us. Not through have tos, but from a place of a personal relationship with him.
