Dishes stacked threatening to fall over. Kitty on her stool basking in the sun. Laughter accompanied by dark humor. Smooth skin overtaking stress lines because sleeping well and play are intentionally practiced. Traveling at the call of loved ones in grief, seeing the world as we travel with prayers on our lips and choosing joy over our own sorrows. Being honest with our boundaries and discovering freedom in both the yesses and nos. Taking a look at it all and realizing the delights of life.

The small things. The big things. Intentionally creating, cultivating, and being delighted. Realizing a fact:
Delights aren’t absent during the hard things.
No. In fact, it is during the hard things that when we pause we discover just how much there is to delight in. Delighting in someone or something doesn’t have a time limit. Nor is it a struggle. It is something that come with a choice to simply enjoy it for who or what it is. A great pleasure in the midst of everything that is going on that sparks beauty, life, and a sense that makes you happy (even if it’s quiet).
Delight is a friend who reminds you of beauty of life. Her power quietly encourages and strengthen us for the moment and often for the day. Reminding us no matter how hard the circumstance-to claim joy as our own. Delights of life is freeing personal to you. You get to decide what delights you. And my favorite part?
You are delighted in. Father delights in you. He created you and desires a relationship with you. To show you a world filled with delights, overflowing with all the goodness He has to offer. Delights of life is yours to receive.
